Improved security and comfort with a 70% reduction in energy costs.
As part of an Operational Programmer to improve territorial cohesion, the borough of Lousada in northern Portugal decided to renovate the lighting in several of its towns. They wanted to replace just over 3,000 fixtures with discharge lamps to improve safety and comfort on the roads.
They wanted an energy-efficient solution that would also reduce the borough’s carbon footprint.
After launching a public tender, the Voltana solution from Schréder ticked all the right boxes and was chosen to light these towns. The Voltana has significantly increased the lighting levels with a pleasant white light to create a safe and welcoming landscape while dramatically reducing the energy costs by over 70%.
The local authorities are delighted as the new lighting has helped the borough achieve its objectives and freed funds for other investments.
