The town of Herstal, north of Liège, launched an important urban renovation plan to create more convivial and aesthetic public spaces, where people could walk, meet and talk by day as by night. The regeneration of the town’s main square with an efficient lighting solution was a key element in the success of this plan. The local authorities wanted a modern solution that would create a sense of safety and well-being with reduce energy and maintenance costs.
The Perla with its modern and elegant design was perfect for enhancing the landscape – it provides a bright white light for excellent colour rendering while a ring of blue ring of LEDs creates a distinct ambiance. Equipped with LEDs, the Perla will also help the town with its goal of saving energy and cutting maintenance costs.
To structure the space at night, cool white LEDs were installed in the Perla luminaires lighting the roads for excellent visual comfort while warm white LEDs were chosen for the luminaires that would light the pedestrian areas.
