As part of an urban renovation programme in Turin, the Rebaudengo Station was built as a strategic metropolitan hub to connect the metro to local trains and the high speed train to Milan and the Torino Caselle Airport. This new station follows in the footsteps of Porta Susa and was constructed with the latest designs, technology and sustainability criteria for high-traffic, functional spaces.
Schreder provided an 100% LED lighting solution to ensure energy savings with the correct lighting levels while creating safe and comfortable environments for passengers.
The entrance areas and platforms are lit by the Astral LED (30 LEDs) which are recessed at a height of 2.5m in a stainless steel frame and fitted with frosted glass. They provide a bright white light which guides passengers safely through this underground space every day while enjoying the vivid colours and architectural design.
Recessed Zea/Zeo floodlights were also installed at the top and the bottom of the stairs to create a secure, colourful system that is easily navigable by the public.
This durable LED solution will also ensure that this busy environment maintains its distinctive aesthetics for the long term.
The Astral installation also offers the added bonus of incorporating the station’s loudspeaker system and surveillance cameras for a more aesthetically appealing environment.
All in all, this complete solution enhances the passenger experience and ensures that the station lives up to its objective as a strategic transportation hub.
