BEKA’S LED LUMINAIRES LIGHT THE ICONIC BRIDGE AT THE ENTRANCE TO PRETORIA
One of the most spectacular road bridges ever designed and built in Africa has been lit by BEKA’s contemporary LED lighting products.
The Nelmapius bridge spans over Africa’s busiest highway, the N1, which links the commercial centre, Johannesburg, with the capital of South Africa, Pretoria. It features striking architectural concepts: The railing of the bridge is realised with segments, which are arranged in appealing patterns, supported by masts, which are positioned in different angles.
The concept of the bridge design was to create a 3D effect, which was realized by the multi-faceted design of the bridge wall, and highlighted through LED lighting.
A total of 239 BEKA LEDbeam and 64 BEKA LEDrail luminaires in various lengths and configurations were installed to highlight the 3D structure of the bridge, and on top of the I-beams.
